Welcome to the setup guide of the Milano WordPress theme.
Install Theme and Plugins
1. Please upload the theme folder to your wordpress themes directory.
2. Please upload the required plugins ( given in the download pack) to your wordpress plugin directory using any FTP client.
Once uploaded, activate the required plugins and the Milano wordpress theme.
Theme Options
1. CUSTOM WELCOME MESSAGE
You can setup a custom welcome message for your site visitors on the home page of your blog.
You can enter the welcome text via the theme option text area.
2. IMAGE SLIDING PANEL
There is an image slider on the home page of the theme. You can select the category of the post from which you want to display the images.
3.FEATURED VIDEO
Enter the video embed code in the theme option section. Remember to resize the video to 320x260px.
4.BANNER ADS
There are four 125 x 125 banner ads on the sidebar. You can setup the banner image url and the target link from the theme option page.
5.ADSENSE OPTION
The theme has adsense locations predefined. Theme uses ,
1. 468x 60 banner
2. 728x 90 banner
3. 300x250 banner
You may enter your adsense script via the theme option.
THUMBNAIL IMAGES AND SLIDER IMAGES
The post thumbnail images on the index page and the images on the sliding panel are setup via customfield feature of wordpress.
How to create this customfield is explained below.
Scroll down below the text editor and find the customfield section.
In the "Name" section, input "preview" (this is case sensitive).
In the "Value" area, input the relative path to the image uploaded to your own server. Images from remote links will not work.
Your image will automatically be resized and cropped.
